To increase the quality education in Kerom, especially in exact science, Wahana Visi Indonesia, collaborate with Surya Institute held Mathematics workshop for teachers.

Manager of Wahana Visi in Kerom, Radika Pinto, said that the reason to hold this event is the opinion of most of people that Mathematics is a frightening subject study.

He also said that they have a plan to facilitate 100 mathematics teachers to join training in Jakarta for one whole year. This plan will need a support from Kerom local government.

Trafficking: A Frightening Presence

Poverty is the root of child trafficking, including in West Kalimantan (Borneo) province, said Thomas A. Setyoso, manager of the Singkawang Area Development Program.
The Borneo Tribune reported on April 16, 2009 that parents should not consider their children as burdens and instead should perceive them as God's blessings so that they are not easily letting their children go to get jobs at tender age as they might end up in misery and suffer from abuses.
Thomas urged the community to join hands to fight against child trafficking as it is the only way to end such practices.

 

Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) Should be Activated

World Vision Indonesia's Director Trihadi Saptoadi stated it Wednesday (13/5) in Jakarta. Health service is very important to increase children's life quality. "We need the involvement of comunity members and Posyandu's skilled cadres," Trihadi said. At the moment, World Vision through its partner Wahana Visi Indonesia helps 314 Posyandu in Surabaya.
